Girl with a Pearl Earring is a historical novel written by Tracy Chevalier. Set in 17th-century Delft, Holland, the novel was inspired by local painter Johannes Vermeer 's Girl with a Pearl Earring.

Great book for a new (or soon to be new) big sister. I love that this book has different races/ethnicities throughout the story as opposed to telling the story of just one big sister. I originally received this book as a gift for my daughter and it is now my go-to book to buy for young big sisters/5(11).

Reject a factious man after a first and second warning, But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one. for it is a minister of God to you for good.

But if you do what is evil, be afraid. I highly recommend "Our Erring Sisters”. It successfully combines a very poignant story with a wry wit.

Moreover, the author’s skillful use of dialogue captures the real style and flavor of my own southern childhood.

The characters were so well depicted that they felt like old friends/5(25). Introduction In his book entitled Killing Giants, Pulling Thorns,26 Chuck Swindoll has reminded us of this epitaph, etched faintly on a gray slate tombstone on a windswept hill in an English country churchyard: Beneath this stone, a lump of clay, Lies Arabella Young, Who, on the twenty-fourth of May, Began to hold her tongue.

I think we would all have to admit that Arabella Young began to hold. Having a sister is probably the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Granted, my sister Alex and I are pretty freakish: in our 22 years of sisterhood, we have never seriously fought. Not : Caroline Goldstein. The erring sisters go in peace.

A new meaning for 'Sewards Folley' would have entered the history books. Letting SC and any other state that wanted to, We must remember Seward was a staunch Unionist. But he was too much a political opportunist and sometimes lost track of the trees of Union in a forest of political maneuverings.

Even the most hardened little orphan felt sympathy for an erring sister who was summoned to the office to face an annoyed matron; and Tommy liked Jerusha even if she did sometimes jerk him by the arm and nearly scrub his nose off.5/5(2).Raina Telgemeier is the #1 New York Times bestselling, multiple Eisner Award-winning creator of Smile and Sisters, which are both graphic memoirs based on her is also the creator of Drama and Ghosts, and is the adapter and illustrator of four Baby-sitters Club graphic lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
